The truth behind your favourite influencer’s Dubai holiday
We made the front page of the Daily Mail today (4th August 2025) with a piece about my anti-trafficking work in the UAE and the disturbing parallels between the experiences of trafficked African women and Western influencers caught in Dubai’s glamour trap.
Western influencers are being swayed by the same persuasive narrative as trafficked women in Nigeria. Fake modelling gigs, free holidays, parties on yachts – it’s a seductive promise whether you’re a girl from Lagos or a woman with 500K followers on Instagram. But behind the filters, the same systems of control, silence, and abuse are at play.
Trafficking isn’t just about force, it’s about deception. And no one is immune to manipulation when it’s dressed up as opportunity. The Daily Mail link is here or you can read the full piece here.
